Bio

Having been born into a family of musicians and singers, my first introduction to playing the bass was at the age of 7. Fortunately for me, the bass player for the gospel group Joyfullettes quit. And with the help of my Uncle James Frank Shaw, and John Jones, I was able to quickly learn all the music necessary to play in the group’s Annual Anniversary Celebration, as well as playing with other North Carolina gospel quartets. I was drawn to funk and rock due to my uncle’s heavy influence and love of musicians such as Jimi Hendrix, the Isley Brothers, George Clinton, Con Funk Shun, The Brother’s Johnson, Mother’s Finest, just to name a few.

27 years later, I am currently working on an Original project with some great musicians, John Bell Keyboardist/Bass Player Kennedy Atkinson guitarist, Andrew Jaimez Drummer/Bassist, Randy Royale Raeford Singer and Jon Mykal singer. On this project I can be heard playing Bass/Guitar/and even Drums. I’m hoping to present a well-rounded versatile genre of music that includes smooth Jazz, R&B, Funk, and Blues and Rock. I’ve always been told that I’m an old soul; therefore I’m hoping to bring in some old school shake it up with current state of music and hopefully create a fulfilling record.
